Unresolved Pains Are the Medicine

In my last letter, I wrote about pleasure as medicine — about audaciously choosing something different.

But here's what I didn't say: before we can truly receive the pleasure, we have to meet the wound that's been blocking it.

There's a wound we've been taught to hide. It lives in the places we feel not enough. In the desires we've buried. In the guilt we carry for wanting more.

And right now, the cosmos is asking us to meet it.

On October 29th, Venus rises from the underworld — the same day we recommence Rebirth Your True Essence. That's no accident. The descent is completing, and what emerges with her isn't just the Venus traits of love, beauty, abundance — it's the medicine of the wound itself.

Because unresolved pains are the medicine.

The Wounded Healer

If you are between 49 and 52 years old, you are walking through your Chiron return.

Chiron — named after the centaur in Greek myth who was wounded by an arrow and could never fully heal, yet became the greatest healer of his time — is known as the wounded healer.

The myth teaches us something profound: the wound that doesn't fully close becomes the gateway to healing others. Chiron didn't heal despite his wound. He healed through it.

And in astrology, when Chiron returns to the place it occupied at your birth — around age 50 — it calls you to revisit your deepest wounding. Not to fix it. Not to finally overcome it. But to meet it with new eyes, and discover that the medicine was in the wound all along.

Chiron in Taurus: The Medicine of Worthiness

If you were born between 1976 and 1983, you carry Chiron in Taurus.

And the theme of this transit is the medicine of worthiness.

Taurus rules the body, the earth, pleasure, and — crucially — value. What we believe we deserve. What we allow ourselves to receive. How we relate to having and getting and keeping.

So the wounding here is specific:
• Wounding around self-worth — the deep, quiet belief that you are not enough, that you must earn your place, that your value is conditional.
• Wounding around ability — getting and having what you desire. The guilt of selfishness. The fear that wanting more makes you greedy, or bad, or unlovable.
• The vulnerability and pain of unresolved desire — the longing you've pushed down because it felt too dangerous, too much, too audacious to want.

And at the heart of it all: permission to embrace more of yourself.

Because what's really being asked is the reclaiming of your Shakti — your sexual energy, your creative life force, your power. Not power over, but power as. The power to be fully alive, fully expressed, fully in your body.

The Gateway of Tenderness

My own journey - meeting the part that feels tender is the gateway.

The part that flinches. The part that still believes it's too much, too wounded, too late. That part is not the obstacle. It's the door.

I am not healed in this — which makes me the healer.

This is the Chiron teaching. The wound you carry is the exact medicine you are here to offer. The place where you still feel tender is the place where you can meet others with the most profound compassion.

You don't have to be fully healed to be a healer. You have to be willing to meet the wound.

Where Does This Land for You?

If you know which house Taurus occupies in your birth chart, you'll know what life themes this transit is illuminating for you.

For me, Taurus sits in my 8th house — the house of the soul's depths, of shared resources, of death and rebirth. And the teaching has been self-reliance on the soul.

Not self-reliance as in I'll do it all myself — but self-reliance as in I am resourced from within. Letting go of the need to control. Leaning into the divine. Trusting that I am held, even in the unknown.

There is wisdom and beauty in this. And embodiment. The body becomes the vessel through which the soul learns to trust.

The Rise of the Feminine

Why this matters beyond the personal.

We are living through a time when horrors are being brought out of the collective shadow — and they are not random. They are reflective of the shadows we each carry, where our feminine energy has been suppressed.

Not the feminine as power over — but the feminine as balance. The receptive, the intuitive, the relational, the life-giving. For too long, humanity has been overshadowed by the masculine — the drive, the control, the conquering. And we are seeing the consequences of that imbalance playing out on the world stage.

I believe that when we work on balancing the inner masculine and feminine within ourselves, we are contributing to the outer harmonisation.

Every woman who reclaims her worthiness is not just healing herself. She is adding a drop of balance to the collective. Every woman who meets her wound and alchemises it into medicine is not just transforming her own life. She is shifting the field.

This is one of the core themes we cover in Rebirth Your True Essence. The inner work as outer contribution.

The Rising

On October 29th, Venus rises from the underworld.

She went down stripped of everything — her crown, her jewels, her robes. She met the darkness. She faced her own undoing.

And now she rises — not the same as before, but more. More whole. More resourced. More herself.

This is the invitation for all of us. To descend into the wound — the worthiness wound, the desire wound, the tenderness — and to rise with the medicine in our hands.

The Red Tent Gathering

And just after Venus rises, we gather.

On November 7th, closest to the new moon  I'll be holding our next Red Tent Gathering — a space to work with the themes of death and rebirth.

Because we are always dying to something to travel  lighter.

We die to the old stories. We die to the worthiness wound. We die to the version of ourselves that stayed small, that hid, that believed she was too much or not enough. And each time we let something fall away, we rise a little lighter. A little freer. A little more ourselves.

The new moon in Scorpio is the perfect container for this work — Scorpio rules the depths, the shadow, the transformation that happens only when we're willing to go all the way down. And with Venus newly risen from the underworld, the timing couldn't be more potent.

If this letter has stirred something in you — if you've felt the call to meet your own wound, to alchemise your pain into medicine — then this gathering is for you.

Come as you are. Bring the parts that feel tender. The parts that feel too much. The parts that have been waiting to be seen.

We'll meet them together because all of it is welcome in the red tent

With love,
Louise
