The Initiation We Were Never Taught to Honour

Many women were taught to fear this phase of life.

To see it as the end of femininity, sensuality, sexuality, beauty, vitality. A slow fade into invisibility. Something to resist, delay, or quietly endure.

But what if this isn't an ending at all? What if it's a transformation—a rite of passage as profound as any we will ever move through?

I've been sitting with this as I witness myself and the women around me navigating what we've been conditioned to call peri-menopause. And I want to rename it. Because the language we inherit shapes the experience we have. This is not a decline. This is an unravelling. An initiation. A conscious undoing of the old paradigm of conditioned ways of being.

The Messiness Has a Purpose

Here's what I know: this phase is meant to be messy. Just like every life initiation—every rite of passage that truly transforms us—it is not designed to be tidy. The chaos has a function. It's the crumbling of the architecture that was never ours to begin with. The roles we performed. The masks we wore. The suppression we normalised for decades.

And here's the link to everything I've been writing to you about these past weeks: the descent, the purging, the feelings we avoided, the young parts we cast out. Peri-menopause doesn't create this material—it reveals it. It brings to the surface everything we've been holding in the body. The unfelt grief. The unexpressed rage. The exhaustion of decades of people-pleasing and self-abandonment. It rises now not to punish us, but to be released.

The stress etched on our faces? The lines? They are not flaws. They are the map of what we've lived through. The challenges that shaped us. The wisdom we've earned. They illuminate the path we've walked—and the sovereignty we now have the opportunity to claim.

The Energy That Rises

When a woman still has her menstrual cycle, a significant part of her life force is naturally directed toward creation and procreation. Every month, the body prepares for the possibility of new life. The womb is the centre where energy gathers and moves outward.

But after menopause, something profound can happen.

The energy that was once directed toward physical creation no longer needs to prepare the body in the same way. And when a woman is not trapped in unconscious beliefs and conditioning, this energy can begin moving upward. Blooming awareness. Sharpening intuition. Deepening wisdom. Opening into higher states of consciousness.

This is why, in many ancient traditions, older women were revered as wise women, healers, priestesses, guides. Not because they had faded, but because they had been transformed. Their power hadn't diminished—it had been alchemised.

A younger woman may have stronger energy for physical creation. But ask her to sit still and meditate deeply for hours, and often it will be more difficult than for a mature woman. Because after menopause, the energy of creation becomes fuel for awakening. For clearer perception. For a stronger connection with the unseen dimensions of life.

We Lost the Art of Celebration

We have lost the art of honouring these thresholds. The rites of passage that once held women through maiden, mother, and crone. The circles that celebrated each transition. The elders who guided younger women through the unraveling. Instead, we were handed resistance. A fight with the increase in years. A culture that tells us to hide the lines, silence the symptoms, and pretend the transformation isn't happening.

But the transformation is happening. And the invitation is to stop resisting and start revering.

The Conscious Initiation

This is where Rebirth Your True Essence meets this threshold.

Peri-menopause will invite you to let go—one way or another. Through life events that shake your foundations. Through the messiness of stuff coming up that's been suppressed for decades. Through the body speaking louder because you can no longer ignore it. The question is: will you let go consciously, held in a safe container, with witnesses who understand the sacredness of this undoing? Or will you let it take you by force?

Rebirth Your True Essence is a conscious initiation. A map for the descent and rising. An opportunity to release the load that this phase of life is already asking you to put down—not through crisis, but through choice. Through feeling what needs to be felt. Through meeting the parts that have been waiting. Through alchemising the old into the nectar of wisdom that is your birthright.

You don't have to navigate this alone.
